Research and Validation:
1. Research – If you are a medical researcher, research organization, physician, clinic or treatment center we would be interested in seeing some scientific research done on what we call Rogue Brain Syndrome. Please contact us through the CONTACT page to tell us of your interest and to arrange for collaboration. For example, we may be able to help with providing a source for patient recruitment and other resources.
2. Validation – If you are someone who has suffered from Rogue Brain Syndrome and survived and want to share your story on this forum, please get in touch with us through our CONTACT page.
Work from Home Therapy Initiative: Corporate Partnerships to provide low stress options for doing work from home for people while they are sheltering at home to recover from Rogue Brain Syndrome are solicited here.
We need businesses that would be willing to participate in this program. They would need to have work that could be sent to people’s homes that comes with instructions and to pay an hourly or unit based compensation for completion. The work would be done on a contract basis. Send inquiries of interest through our CONTACT page.
We are very excited about the potential for this project to reduce the stress for people suffering from RBS!
Respite Center Therapy – A new paradigm
This is a vision, and really, a dream. What could be even better than people having a supportive home environment from which to recover from RBS? People having a Respite Center they could go to in order to recover from RBS. Our vision of this kind of center would be a place that is somewhat remote, and ideally, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It would be like a small group home that would feel like a quiet retreat. It could be a mountain lodge or a lake home, for example. There would be no requirements for group and individual therapy or any stress, just plenty of time to rest and relax, enjoy the natural surroundings, get services if and when wanted, like massage. There would be a medical staff advisor for overseeing medication, but otherwise very hands off.
As residents begin to feel better they would have access to other services and treatment options such as yoga/exercise, arts and crafts, talk therapy, nutrition education, cooking classes, etc., but only when they are ready. This would be a long-term care facility model as people with RBS do not typically recover quickly. It would be far less expensive than what is charged by treatment centers that have a more aggressive treatment approach. Finally, we would want to build a model that could be replicated in many places since there are many people needing this service that, as far as we have been able to determine, doesn’t exist anywhere.
We want to build a treatment model for Rogue Brain Syndrome that will say goodbye forever to the dehumanizing and antiquated medical warehousing model of the psychiatric ward or “behavioral” institute (same model, different name). This model is outmoded and inappropriate and often ends up being very costly without being effective and without being honoring to patients.
What we need for this dream to become a reality is partners who would be serious about helping us move forward. We need a medical director or advisor, an MD who understands what we are trying to do and will lend his or her credibility and expertise to our effort.
We also need investors to get this project off the ground. We are open to considering different business models. It could be the formation of a foundation. We could take a donation of land and a building that would be developed into the prototype of this effort. The options are endless. This is a truly unique approach to reducing the incidence of suicide and we invite forward thinking people to get in touch with us through our CONTACT page to establish communication with us.
